John Walter founded DrumCrazy Ltd in Jan 2000
As a jazz musician and composer he became fascinated with the universal language of music. He realised that simple, agreed structures allow musicians who have never met before to perform and improvise together and create inspiring music in the moment.
As a music teacher he found that allowing people to access this excitement and creativity through a percussion orchestra was a rewarding and fulfilling event.
As a full time DrumCircle facilitator for ten years he has retained his passion for empowering people to connect through music and use the metaphor of the percussion orchestra as a tool for buiding team spirit and working with organisational development.
He is UK co-ordinator for the
Arthur Hull International training courses, and also holds
DrumCrazy training courses, in person, or by Distance Learning
Janey Walter says:
DrumCrazy ‘play’ work combines my love of music and enabling others to discover what is within them to contribute to group music.
At school I was a dreamer in class and came alive in singing and music lessons; it was what came naturally, and we sang in a group!! More fun!!
In the 70’s my latent facilitation skills came to the fore as I trained to run therapy groups in a social work setting. I was excited by this way of learning and expanding where I was nurtured and supported by the group process.
I have facilitated groups in various mental health settings for about 10 years as well as parenting two beautiful girls (who also happen to sing like birds!) before joining my husband 10 years ago in DrumCrazy.
I have trained with
Arthur Hull, the master in DrumCircle technology, and continue to learn from each group I am involved with.
